After viewing my demonstration speech, I realized that even though I thought my preparation and delivery of the speech may have went well, I was surprised as there were more flaws than positive aspects. Noting on the positive aspects, the organization of my presentation fulfilled my expectations as I promptly illustrated a well thought introduction, content description, and a conclusion. By beginning the demonstration with a verbal clincher, I feel that it may have given an incentive for the audience to focus their attention on the demonstration.
Continuing, I felt that my description of the ingredients and how to prepare the ingredients to make the salsa were simple and clear to understand. Furthermore, I ended the presentation by relating back to the introduction clincher to develop the demonstration as a whole and relating it to a typical game day in front of the television. In addition to the presentation as a positive speech, I believe my visual aid helped to develop the demonstration in a positive way as well. By showing the procedures physically on how to make salsa, I think that the audience was able to create a clearer image on how to make salsa for their selves.
Summing the negative aspects included my personal appearance during the demonstration. Not surprising to me, I was nervous and it showed throughout my presentation. I thought that I was hard to here, and when my voice could be heard, my body language distracted the audience from the meaning of what I was trying say. In addition, I thought the pace of my presentation was a little sluggish as well. Also, since I thought the demonstration went on a little longer than expected, I believe that the audience may have become bored by the middle of the presentation. Posted by Logan Brock at PM.
